Raising funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability on Marylebone Station on 16th June

A celebration of the 400th anniversary of Banbury's Royal Charter

Thirty-nine primary schools and youth groups in and around Banbury have each made a metre square of textural embroidery contributing to a tapestry that maps the history of Banbury and Banburyshire before the granting of the Royal Charter by King James I and over the last 400 years.

All the schools taking part have also been briefed about the work and aims of Leonard Cheshire Disability, whose new Oxfordshire Cheshire Home has recently opened in the centre of Banbury.

Apart from leaving a wonderful legacy of the 400th anniversary of the granting of the Royal Charter, the project is helping to change the way people think and act towards disability.
